This is a kitchen in primitive fashion. The cabinetry is knotty pine and painted over stain to achieve a simple yet mildly distressed finish. The drawer fronts are slab fonts that of flat pine boards. The doors and fitted end panels on the cabinets are in frame-and-panel fashion .All of the drawers and doors seen here are refferred to as beaded inset.Meaning the doors are “inset” or flush with the face frame. The panels themselves are tounge and grooved boards in v groove style.A similar look can be to use a beaded tounge and groove panel. The wall cabinet doors are glass and have adjustable shelves. The range is a gas fueled Viking , the sinkĀ is a farmhouse style sink fabricated in porcelain. The corner has a lazy susan with a soft close-feature.The counter surfaces are polished slate. On top of the island visible on the right hand side of this photo is a primitive compression fit (no drawer glides) apothecary used for spice storage. Some of the larger drawers are used as pan storage and roll out trays for table linens.Other drawers received removable velvet lined silverware caddies. In this photo by the lazy susan is a fully integrated dish washer and closer to this end is the fully integrated trash compactor.Another feature used to achieve the fitted furniture feel was the use of a furniture or”bracket-base” in place of just a standard “toe-kick”.
